Hi robertkbrown...you may want to try to following steps.....good luck my friend...chris If ?LOC DOOR? is flashing in the display of your range or oven, and the self-clean cycle has not been selected, follow the steps below to reset your control: Motorized Switch 1. Power surge made my Frigidaire stove show a F9 code

F9 is a door lock error. Sometimes when the power surges the door locks then unlocks. It is possible your door lock could actually be broken, however many times when the EOC fails, it will show an F9 when it should show F1. I would guess that your EOC (main computer board) is fried. Try unplugging it for 24 hours then press the door lock button once you plug it back in. If there is no error code when you plug it in but the error code comes back when you lock the door, you probably have a problem with the lock.

My self-clean Maytag electic stove (7 to 8 years old) will not clean because when you set clean on the touch pad the automatic door locking device moves to lock the door, and does pull the door in briefly,...

I fixed the problem simply by pressing the clean button when the oven was warm, not cold.
For some reason not explained in the instruction manual, the oven door safety locked properly and automatically when the oven was warm. I don't know why, but I'll take it!!
