When I run hot water from my machine there are small shards of metal that come out. What could be causing this.  I have been keeping up with the cleaning and descaling regularly.

I would save the shards, package up the machine and take it back to the seller. If you don't have your receipt, credit card receipt, take a copy of your check, anything.Take pictures of everything and write down everything that you do and date it.

Be insistent with the seller and tell them you expect them to back up the product s they sell. they may or may not cooperate. It is a situation where they and the company are susceptible to a lawsuit, so you can be pretty confident here.If you have had it for awhile, then call the manufacturer, tell them your problem and that you expect immediate refund for this dangerous piece of equipment

Sunbeam hot/cold water dispenser is leaking from looks like copper tubing that goes to tank. Model # ylr-5-87h3 what could my problem be

Broken solder connection.
Continual expansion and contraction of metal due to hot and cold extremes will cause metal fatigue. The most vulnerable place is at the join. Other places can fail, but usually the solder join will fail first.
Buy another one and support economy.
Make sure next unit is connected to cold water line, and not hot water line. If hot water dispenser is connected to Hot line, then it will cause water heater to run each time water is drawn through dispenser because cold water immediately enters tank.

You might also consider installing small tank under counter. Tanks are less glamorous than hot water dispensers but tanks are more reliable long term than instantaneous water heaters.

The water is running very slow coming into the washer, both hot and cold

this is caused by a bad mix valve -- the mix valve is the small plastice valve that the two water hoses connect to on the back of the machine. turn off the water lines, and remove the two hoses, now remove the back panel from the machine. the valve is held in place by one small screw, lable wires hot and cold ( to make install easier ) -- remove the valve and take it down to your local appliance repair shop and buy a matching new one. install and hook everything back up and all should be good and working proper.

Cannot produce steam

The machine have a separate heating system for steam than hot water for steam. The steam system it might be full of scale. If you hand are good you can easily remove top panel and side panel. You can follow the teflon pipe from the steam wand and it will lead you to the steam solenoid valve and the small copper steam heating system and desasemble it both the valve and small boiler and remove any scale and dirt from it using a wire brush, shurp screwdriver and similar tool. Then poot them back together. You can try the machine with panel removed so if it needs something more to try once more again. One small tip advice. Use your camera and make pictures of everything before desasemble them, then you are safe if you forget about something. In this way you can clean everything metalic that the water pass though.

1 year old Frigidaire front loading washing machine will only

Check the water inlet valve. Unplug the machine, turn off the water, and remove the supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the openings on the water inlet valve. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Pay particular attention to the hot water side. Check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid and the valve assy will need replaced. I'll attach a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Does this washer even have a hot water cycle? There is a hot water hose going in and it is turned on......but how do Iget a hot wash?

If the hot water is not working, then check the water inlet valve. Unplug the machine and turn off the water. Remove the water supply hoses and check the small metal screens inside the valve. Pay particular attention to the hot water side. Make sure the screens are clear of rust or debris. Check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter and check for continuity. A lack of continuity will mean a bad solenoid and the assembly will have to be replaced. I'll attach a photo for reference. Really sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

After initial start up on hot water , it reverts back to cold water only. The water valves work when tested in diagnostic mode.Fault reads Hot and Cold Water Valve Faulty. On hot water only it starts out...

It's most likely the water inlet valve solenoids. Be sure to unplug the machine. They can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a bad solenoid. Also check the small metal screens inside the openings on the water inlet valve. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. I will attach a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Won't shut off machine turns off after a few seconds

You may have a burnt motor. This is usually caused by a clog in the pump. Sometimes small items such as socks find its way to the pump. It could also be the timer itself. If there is a burning smell when that happend it is probably the motor.

During short spin cycles between rinses it doesn't pump water out

Try looking to see if the little motor is spinning the drain pump. It is in the bottom right. Occasionally I get a small metal shard which locks the pump and therefore-no draining. You can undo everything and check the pump for blockage. Then if need be, replace the mechanisim. The parts are all on line, as is the manual. or call 800 776-3538

Kenmore oasis long fill

Check your hot and cold water supply hoses for residue buildup that restricts the flow of water.....there is a small metal screen filter that clogs up ....most likely the cause if your pipes are old and the inside walls are shedding deposits into the water line.
