Well i think i freid my amp i had a friend take a look at it and thats wat he said might of happened cuz as soon as i try to put a fuse in it blows it so idk wat to do now i want to get it fixed but in...

  • Open the Amp up. Look for any black spots on the board. If it "blew" you should see a burnt electrical component, perhaps a RCA jack where the cords go. That's the first step in looking at a suspected "blown amp"... is to try and see if you can see what blew.
  • Let me know what you find. If the fuse is blowing just as quick as the power feed is connected there is a burnt part of the board and/or a component. I suspect a diode. They allow current one way and are what one may say a fuse on the board itself in the form of a component.
  • Let me know.

Will this give me 400 watts on each

bignatedabal: You can't get something more out of a device than it's rating. In other words, if you have a 400W amp that's all it's going to produce. For example if you're looking to drive both sub spkrs @ 350W each then buy a sub amp with a rating of 700W @ 2ohms & connect your 4ohm spkrs in parallel to the amp. Each spkr will produce 350W of sound if everything is installed correctly.

1 thing to look for in amp mfg's. Look for those who rate their amps in RMS power. This is the true output rating. Many amps are rated in peak-to-peak which seems great but doesn't tell you the real story, unless you know how to do the math to determine the RMS. The better mfg's will take the time to test their amps & rate them properly. Also look for massive heatsinking (the cooling fins). I consider cooling fans to be a benefit as well.

If you have addtional questions, drop me a line.

Amp. Audiobahn a2300hcx

If the subs are dual 4 ohm voice coils and if your amp is good down to 1 ohm, your best bet is:
  1. Connect the voice coils in parallel ("+"s together, "-"s together). This will make the impedance of each sub 2 ohms.
  2. Connect the subs in parallel.
  3. Bridge the amp to one channel.
This should max the amp out at 2400W, which means about 1200W per sub.

If your subs are single 4 ohm voice coils, do the same steps, but you'll only be able to load the amp to 2 ohms, which means about 600W per sub.

Also keep in mind that box size, type, and quality make a big difference in how subs sound.

Dont no wat size fuse for lead

depends what wireing kit you are useing.if you are useing say a 300watt kit then the fuse in the main power lead is normally a 25amp fuse, and this should be installed a maximum of 12 to 18 inches from the batery. hope this helps.
