I know this is an old post but just ran into the same problem with my brother in laws Pioneer Radio. Well, it turns out that the head unit has to be OFF before you try to change the subwoofer setting. THen press and use the Multi-Control knob to select SubControl and change this to REAR SP: FULL (this gives you full range sound) or REAR SP:SUB W (this is for only low, subwoofer frequencies). His radio was set to sub, which is dumb because it was installed with a 4 channel amp and 4 full range speakers. Not sure why it was setup like this in the first place but oh well...

The four RCAs are for the speaker outputs. They plug into the rear of the Pioneer unit (front and rear outputs). Also, you didn't mention the model number of the wiring harness (necessary to properly diagnose the situation) but, some these units have one or two philips head dials to adjust the volume of the stereo and the volume of the chime. These dials may be on the side of the unit or, oyu may need to open the casing to see them.

How do I set the time on a Pioneer DEH-P3100UB

Press and hold SRC until unit turns off. Press MULTI-CONTROL and hold until CLOCK SET appears in display, then release. Press MULTI-CONTROL to select Hour or Minute. Turn the MULTI-CONTROL knob to change segment that is flashing. Reference page 26 in this link to Pioneer for your DEH-P3100UB instruction manual.

2 RCA's coming from amp into radio's single subwoofer output RCA?

You can either hook up the left channel only or buy a splitter that separates one input into two outputs.

I cant get the rear speakers to play on my pioneer deh-p3000ib.

Sounds like you have
1) the rear speaker cable is plugged into the wrong colored hole
2) the audio software thinks you have a subwoofer, but you don't? Check on the audio software for ways to configure the speakers, the latest chips auto-detect when you plug in a cable, and ask you what that was you plugged in.

Make sure that the FIE (front image enhancement) is off. If it is on, the rear outputs are muted.

I HAVE A PIONNER DEH-P6800MP

If your volume knob does nothing, then odds are your speaker outputs are blown. I would double check the setup menu to see if it has an internal amp shutoff, but I think only Alpines have this..
To access the menu, please do the following:
Press and Hold the "source" button until unit turns off.
Press and hold down the "multi-control" knob until the "language select" display appears.
Rotate the "multi-control" knob until you see something like "internal amp" or aything that looks like it would shut off the speaker outputs.....

Again, i don't think Pioneers have this, so odds are your aplifier chip is blown.

Pioneer DEH-P2900MP head unit

There is no power from the rca jacks. Option 1; connect the speaker wires directly. Any aftermarket auto manual (Hayes, Clymer) with wiring schematics will let you know what wire is what in the dash. Option 2; RCA jacks output to an amplifier. There is no power coming from the RCA jacks. They have to be used with the amp. If you chose to use the normal speaker wires, be aware that these radios do not like stock speakers or wire. If you take the time and money to replace all of it, the head unit will last much longer. If you choose to use an amplifier, it will burn out fast unless you replace the speakers and wires immediately.

RCA Problem

You need an active subwoofer input in your amplifier.Which amplifier you are using? Only latest pioneer amplifiers has active sub input and sub output which can be connected to subwoofer. If you dont have active input then you will have to connect it the way you did in old player.
