Kenmore Quietguard Standard, model # 587.16193400 dishwasher goes through complete wash cycle, stops on "clean" will not advance to final "sanitize" stage, cannot turn off or start new cycle unless you unplug and then restart...

"clean" is solid, only button choices are: sanitize, hi temp, heat dry, delay hours, start/cancel...everything else is on a selector knob: normal, heavy wash, light wash, upper rack, china/chrystal, quick rinse,...tried pressing some of the buttons together but still nothing unplugged and restarted, everything seems okay until the end of cycle...

Hi

If clean light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Press high temp-heated dry in sequence.....if that wont help then the issue is with the water not draining completely and you have to clean the drain filter pump assembly.

That sounds like you have a leak and the flood sensor has been activated. Look in the underneath of the machine for a pan. Do you see water in it?

665.15824000 dishwasher

What is your water temp. This model has 4 automatic water heat cycles built in to it and it heats the water to 145 degrees and won't let advance till that temp. If the water coming in is lower than 120 degrees it will add about 2 hours to your normal wash cycle.

Kenmore Dishwasher 587.15163401 knob stuck mid-cycle

See if it is stuck on a water heat cycle. if the heater circuit or the thermostat is not working properly it will continue to run looking for a rise in temperature. If these are in working order the timer it self could be sticking and not advancing.

Kenmore quietguard standard wont start.

is there any function at all? if not, check thermal fuse located inside near control panel, check www.searspartsdirect.com and enter your model # to show how to take it apart. If it has functional display lights, replace main control board after ohm test on wash motor and fill valve.

Kenmore Ultrawash QuietGuard 3 Dishwasher not draining or rinsing

Not draining may either need new drain motor. or something is blocking the drain pipe.

Spots on dishes means you are using to much detergent or the wrong kind of detergent.

Your owners manuel should tell you what type to use.

Clean light keeps blinking and I can't start a new cycle

Puppa, clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault. Catriver...post back
