open the case as described elsewhere in 'replace belt' questions, I get tired of typeing, and examine the fan body and exhaust ducts for a thermal fuse
looks like

or

one shot device to cutoff current for over temp
If there is no conductivity through the device (remove 1 wire to isolate test with ohmeter)
replacements are ~$15 each, common to most dryers the local appliance part store will have them
or your local service guy can do it, I take ~15 minutes, and charge $35 plus parts, sorry not an offer, I am likely 100 miles away
Before you put the dryer back together
clean all lint from fan impeller fan housing and exhast duct, right to house outside wall, most common cause for blown thermal fuse

My dryer will not heat up, it is turning. could it be a fuse on the dryer? If so, where is it located?

Contact the manufacturer of the device. some parts might need replacement already.

The selector knob on my Whirlpool LER4634JQ1 does not move, so the dryer will not turn off automatically and no "end of cycle" buzzer sounds. Do I simply replace the timer?

Your timer most likely does need to be replaced. The timer has a small motor that causes it to rotate during the cycle and those can go bad causing the timer to not advance. Unfortunately, you cannot get just that timer motor anymore. Hope this helps!

Blowing cold air

This model dryer has two heating elements, one for the top and one for the bottom, I suspect that the bottom element is burned out. If you want to attempt it yourself then I can send you a service manual that will walk you step by step through the whole dryer.

Dryer will not blow hot or cold air

what's the brand name and model number?i don't understand what you mean it won't blow hot or cold air?if you have the vent line off of the back and the dryer is running and you don't feel any air blowing out you could have a bad blower wheel,if you write back let me know if it's running and what it's doing.thanks

Dryer not drying clothes

Hello, does the dryer drum turn? If the dryer drum is moving. Is the dryer blowing hot air, cold air, no air at all? Now, if it's doing everything mention above escept blowing hot air then you'll need a new heating element. If not blow air, then the drum belt is broken, belt off, or the drum motor has gone south. It was put for a quitt. Which mean in New Mexico, they fired me, I don't work, no job, finished, I'am out of here, don't bury me with my wires exposed. I hope I was some help to you. have a nice day and be safe, GB. stewbison

Dryer will not turn off is it the timer? the dial does not move

do you have heat?when the dryer heats up the timer doesn't move, when the heat shuts off the timer moves, when the heat comes back on the timer stops, the timer will not move if there's no heat.if you have heat it could be the timer.also run the dryer when it's cold for 15 to 30 minutes and check to see if the flame is still liting, there's a little cover on the front panel that you can pop off to see the flame, there's a set of gas coils on top of the gas valve that when they fail they will stop working when they heat up,when the coils cool down they will let the gas through and the flame will lite again, common problem with gas dryers and most likely your problem.also when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer, you need to blow out the vent line if it's a long run from the back of dryer to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow out the line, make sure the outside vent is clear so the air can blow through, next you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is,you should do this once a year moreso with gas so you don't have a fire, also your clothes will dry on time and you'll have less problems with the dryer.let me know what you find.
