The D-580 Zoom camera has a 4x digital zoom, in addition to the 3x optical zoom, which gives you a total of 12x seamless zoom overall. Simply use the Shooting Mode menu to activate the Digital Zoom feature.

On a D-580 Zoom camera, the Macro Mode operating range is 8 inches to 20 inches. This means the camera must be between 8 inches and 20 inches away from the subject for a picture to be in focus.
