Question about Maytag Dryers
I purchased a gas dryer, with the above model number, but it did not have a users manuel, it was a floor model. I have looked through the listing on you site, but can not find it.
If the pedestals are properly installed they pretty much become part of the washer and dryer and if those are installed correctly you will have no more vibration then if the units are sitting on the floor. If possible get the washer as close to an outside wall as possible since the floor is stronger there.

You are supposed to remove the top of the washer, and the dryer feet lock into brackets...but being lazy I just bolted the dryer to the washer using some metal straps (1/16" x 8 x 4 ") with some machine screws, and it's been fine for years. Not pretty, but I had the same question and no handy internet to help me at the time ;P

Thanks for all the input! We reached a compromise in hiring an electrician who was willing to come out today and install the connection for half what everyone else quoted...on a Sunday! The laundry piling up in the corner was very persuasive in convincing us that your advice (in the end, we'd need a professional no matter which way we went) was prudent. Thanks. jersey p

Call Danby Customer Service at 1-800-263-2629; The part costs $25 or so plus another $7 shipping. Better than getting it through a distributor, I was given a price of $40 through a local place.

Disconnect power. Turn off gas.
Open the door and look along the front upper edge of the door opening. In the top left and right rounded corner of the door opening you will see screws going upward into the top. Remove both screw and raise the top.
Look down inside the open top dryer from above on each left and right edge there will be a screw holding the front assembly to the case of the dryer. Remove 1 on each side.
The dryer front can now be pulled toward you about 3 inches at the top and then lifted off the bottom clips and swung away to the right from the case. Be careful not to strain any wires connected between the case and the front.
This will expose the underside of the dryer along with motor, Gas valve and venting for checking and vacuuming. Be careful of the ignitor. It is very brittle and can be easily broken
Gas service should should be done by professionals only as improper servicing can cause fires, explosion or death from asphyxiation. TEST for leaks after reassembling gas parts.
Perform thorough vacuuming and reverse the above process for reassembly. Good Luck
