no pavilion PC model stated., not even desktop or laptop.
this is 2009 cam, and runs XP/vista/w7 software only.
lost the CD that came with it?
the maker is Vivitar, only they can source software.

Surely if you replaced the uProcessor the hard drive was not affected. Why would you need new discs/programmes?

it is not a software problem but more of a hardware problem, seems like your FL inverter board is about to go out!!!

You can download the software at the HP website. Just click on the support link, lookup your specific model # and select the o/s you are running. Download and install following the onscreen instructions. You should be all set. Hope this helps.

assuming you are using it on HP pavilion dv6000?

To test camera download AmCap utility (use Google to find it).
Vista does not have any way to test camera by itself!

Alright, if I understand you...You possibly lost the original operating system disc for your HP Pavilion, and your daughter used a Windows XP restore disc, and now it is asking you to register the software?

AND you also lost the set-up software for your Internet provider?
