Make sure the pci slot in yor motherboard is working in order for the video card to be detected properly. make sure also that the drivers you are installing is the correct one.

Thats for AGP. Id suggest the AGP Radeon 4670 for 124.00$. AGP runs slower than PCI, but not by much and the card is YEARS newer.

Hope this Helps!

Suitable agp for playing gta 4

The AGP slot on this system is 4X

The two cards that were tested on this from Dell are
ATI 64MB Radeon VE 7500 ATI 32MB Radeon
The maximum card you can connect to the system any PCI video card not more than 128 MB. As the motherboard and the power supply would not support it

Thanks

Hello,

I would recommend Nvidia graphics card.
It is one of the best, and compatible with your computer.
I would recommend one of the most recent models.
Check with your local computer shops and they will assist you in getting a good recent model.

Thank you for using Fixya,
Kenneth.

Video upgrade

it depends upon your mb. some mb can support pci and agp . some of them support pci and pci-ex . so if your mb has agp or pci-ex slot than you have to buy a video card according to that. video cards range from 128mb to 1024 mb. you have to check your motherboard specification which card it can support. also it depends upon the power supply unit. need at least 300 watts for 128 mb - 256 mb card.

Upgrading my Video card

AGP is the older slot, PCI (Not express) is a dinosaur, you'll be lucky if you could find a PCI video card these days and if you did they are terrible in performance. A good card that I would recommend is an Radeon X850 AGP, you will find this card performs quite well and is inexpensive on ebay.
Good luck

Is this computer pci express x16 video card compatible?

Hi mtribbia, yes the Radeon X1050 has two DVI output connectors. Using ATI/AMD's Catalyst Control Center is where you set up your two monitors. This is known as display extension. Where you can extend your display from the primary 1 monitor & drag the image to your second monitor 2. Download the latest Catalyst Control Suite from here.
http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/radeonx-xp

To change the Catalyst Control Suite to another OS use this link. http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

Good Luck & Kind Regards.
