It is most likely and electrical problem within the speakers themselves.
Contact Logitech to see if you can get a warranty replacement. If you go to their web site, you might be able to catch a live chat customer service. Not on a Sunday though, try Monday or Tuesday:
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/439/202
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer hope this helps

Why is it that Logitech are not interested in their products once the warranty has run out? i have had two pars of Z-10's and both have just packed up. They are good speakers but the fact that the back-up is rubbish and you cannot open them tells yo uall yo uneed t oknow about Logitech. Buy a better product is my advice from a company that does not ignore the thousands of poor suckers that bought the Z-10 speakers only to have them pack up..
Same here, and we are not alone...I think the simple solution is to not buy Logitech products again.
