On the ps1, connect the cable that has the Red, White, and Yellow connections on one end to the black connection that looks flat (or both ends if you have the model with the Red, White, and Yellow connections on the back of the PS1).
connect the other end (red, white, yellow) to the TV with the same colors, on the same row. Note the input name (video 1,2... or aux 1,2...).

turn on the PS1. On the TV, change to the input name that you just connected the ps1 to.
you should see the ps1 menu.

Lines on the screen.. system turns on but if any picture shows, it has lines through it.. audio/video cables bad??

Possibly a cable failure or you can try to hook it up to a different TV or LCD or any output device. If i does the same, try to downscale the display resolution to a lower setting, say from 1080p tp 720p.

Playstation 3 display 1200x720

Are you using an HDMI cable to connect? Or a Component Cable? They are the only cables capable of 1080i or 1080p.

If so, go into your video settings and make sure that you CHECK ALL boxes when it get's to "what resolution is your tv capable of" Check all of them from 480 to 1080.

Hope this helps!

My 42LG50 won't accept the 1080p output from my PS3 Plz help.

Most PS3 games do not support 1080p, so if u have a 1080p supporting game, only then can u do it.

Why does my platstation 3 display 1200x720 on samsung lcd tv when i put a game in. On my tv it display the out put on screen when ever i put in a movie our game.

your question is a bit unclear but here are some suggestions:

1 your tv doesent support 1080p or 1080i
2 it could be that the game/dvd is not in 1080p or 1080i
3 it could be your tv is set to minimize resoultions

i am not an expert i am just wingin' it here.

Ps3 not playing blu ray on my samsung LCD

Change the frame rate on your tv to 60hd, that should solve it. Basically, your tv might be set to theater mode which is playing 24hd..

Games run on hdmi, but not Blu-ray movies

You most likely have the updated drivers. You may have to go and change a setting. I found an answer on the PS3 website that may be of some use to you. I hope this helps you: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3&message.id=1662191 From the site: "go to bd/dvd setting and set the "108024hz" option off"
