If the bulb is new & clean. It could likely be the connection between your video source (computer, tv. etc). Try reconnecting or getting a new cable before costly repairs.

I have the same problems with my Panasonic PT-LM2E, the blue specks on the bottom of the screen, midway across the screen. I checked the air filter and discovered that it had started to disintergrate inside the machine and as a result, bits of fine particals had been sucked into the "LCD" blower fans located on both sides of the lens.I disassemble the cooling unit and found that pieces of air filter were on the Lcd colour filters and the Lcd block. I also found that a piece of air filter had lodged itself in the fan scroll causing it to run out of balance and crack the fan scroll. I'll try and clean the filters with low pressure compessed air and see if it makes a difference, however replacing a blower fan is going to be a hard. Bulb has 1760hrs on it,the projector was purchased in 2005, so now its a question of "Is it Worth try to Fix It.

All issues like this are usually due to dirt within the lens unit/ LCD module. Carefully stripping the projector and cleaning of all lenses could solve this problem. However if the LCD unit is too badly damaged, colour staining will still occur.

I'd recommend checking the fans of the projector, and make sure that they're spinning. Since you've mentioned that the lamp blew inside the unit, bits and pieces of the lamp might have lodged itself within the fans. It might also have to do w/ the after-market replacement bulb, which I normally wouldn't recommend.

Our projector (Panasonic PT AE900U) is still working but the picture seems very dark all of a sudden. we are wondering if this means we need to replace the bulb and if so, what do we replace it with.

You need a new lamp. Cost is around $350. The following site shows replacement:

I have a panasonic pt l500u, just started getting large yellow spot in middle of screen- looks like a giant finger print. Bulb was replaced less than two months ago.

Hi:

The problem here is the one of the miniature LCD screens in the unit is faulty, in this case its the blue one. There are three of them inside the unit RED<GRN<BLUE. The blue seems to be failing in your unit, for instance if you mix red and green you get yellow. Have a local shop service the unit and clean and refocus the unit back to factory spec's..

PT-AE700E projector appears to have gone kaput - not lighting up.

Because of high voltages and heat, there are many safety circuits inside these units. If you have a spare lamp, try replacing the lamp. Initial checks are made before the lamp is fired and sometimes a defective lamp can cause this. Also, can you descruibe what you mean by "noisier than usual"? Is the fan making more noise? Something elase making a noise?

Thanks,
Dan

Blue Haze on the left and various other places on screen

it's the polarizing filter on one of the lcds. they tend to fry due to excessive heat. clean the dust out of the projector so it can cool down properly. but you will need to replace that filter. it is fairly easy, but remember which plugs go where. however, many companies won't sell parts for or replace components of the optical engine or the prism assembly. if they don't, it's going to cost a bit. check the panasonic website for the closest authorized service center.
