Best buy sells a bracket that mounts on tripod screw on botom and then you can also buy a stronger flash in same area that will mount onto bracket

How do I down load pictures from my camera to the PC. Sometimes I get it to work and other times nothing happens. Thank you.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Try a camera reset. Go into the setup menu and scroll to "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions.

I would call your local camera shop to see if they can give you a quote over the phone to fix.

I cannot transfer videos to my computer with my Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG6

After the USB cord is connected, a menu will popup on the camera. The camera needs to be told you want to transfer files with the usb rather than use the camera as a webcam for example.

Selecting USB Connection / Card Reader on the camera should allow you to access your files on the camera.

You could try removing the memory card from the camera and using an external usb card reader on it.

Driver sanyo vpc cg6

When the Sanyo CG6 is plugged into the computer, and the popup menus on the camera are directed to USB Card Reader Mode, you should not require any drivers for Windows or MacOS.

Review the CG6 Users Manual for more information.

Red Eye

Does your camera's flash have a redeye reduction mode? It should tell you in your camera's manual. Some cameras use a pre-flash method which causes the flash to fire several times in succession before firing the shutter in order to give the subject's eyes time to adjust to the bright light.

Redeye is actually caused by the flash being too close to the camera's lens. That's why you see professional photographers using a flash attached to their cameras by a cable so they can move it away from the lens. Because you have a compact camera, there is no way to change this flash to lens distance.

You might also try just turning the flash off. Unless you are taking pictures in a very dark area, you may find the results to be very satisfactory.

Changing the language

The CG6 manual states how to find the change language option in the menus on page 135. Even though you can't read the characters, the position on the menus should be the same.
