Ok first this is in the chainsaw category and since they don't make one,, I'll assume you mean a sawzall, if you have the quick release ( which is a joke and is a bad part ) your going to have to breal off the blade at the section that it reduces ( where it goes into the holder) unscrew the ringnut that releases the blade, and take it all apart. be careful there is a ballbearing sitting inside there that will roll right out and naturally get lost in the mix. once apart you can remove the last of the blade. Now if your really lucky, you can clean it,, lightly oil this piece , and reassemble it,, and it will work, I have 3 and have replaced that part on all 3 of them,, Now if its an older model that still has the set screw hold down,, Just unscrew the setscrews and remove the blade, ( some have 2 some just one set screw depending on the model

I have a 22hp Briggs from a JD L120 trying to replace the case gasket but the drive pulley is rusted on.

Try a 6'' or 8'' bearing puller. if not then a sawsall with a heavy duty metal cutting blade. 6''

The blade on my dewalt sawsall wont stay in,there appears to be something wrong with the spring

Depending on the model, the collisse of the shaft can be faulty
en ,
The saw guide depends very much on the model machine and the applied drive.
Please note that the DEWALT reciprocating machines not for nothing under the group WOOD editing machines and not suitable to use as all demolition saw or saw for steel objects.

Cutting an opening in a steel door for a doggie door. Bought a Sawsall just for this. Any tips?

be sure to use eye protection and gloves to protect you from sharp edges.
first mark your lines on the door using a square, then drill holes large enough for the sawzall blade to fit through in all 4 corners. next use the sawzall to cut your straight lines which were alraedy marked and you now the opening you need. if necessary use a file or dremel tool to clean up and debur edges. hope this was helpful, if so please rate.

Plugged electric sawzhall in, no power. checked cable -- ok, checked both brushes, still have about 3/8in in each of them. What should I do next? Just replaced the blade, but I do not think that has...

I would say its either in your cord(an open wire from wear) or the switch on the sawsall.
Try plugging it in and hold in the switch (dont have a blade in) move the cord around in different places to try to get it to work if thats not it and your brushes are ok its probably the switch. I ve replace bad switches in sawsalls before from wear. You can either go to your local electrical supply store that sells milwaukee and order one or I ve purchase them at Grainger parts too.

Broken blade on a porter cable 737 tiger

This is a jigsaw miscatagorized as a chainsaw. Do you have a blade big enough to drop 24" tree? We don't answer jig saw questions in the chainsaw section.

Milwaukee Sawsal Broken blade

Spay inside where blade fits in with PB BLASTER & let set a while. Maybe you will get lucky & the blade will fall out as it should. If not then it will have to be dissembled in this area. There are 2 BB's inside that fit into the small hole on the blade. They are forced in by a spring, be careful not to lose these. Also check the accuatator when you pull the finger release, make sure it is going all the way or it is not broken, Good luck.
