On a kodak you can also copy your internal photos to card-go to menu and find menu highlight that says storage or something like that and change setting to use card first-when the camera has a card in it it will usuallt default to card first

Do you have pics on the internal memory? You must format the internal memory with no card in the camera. Then, format the card.
