My Printer says I'm 'out of paper' but I'm not, any ideas? Thanks.

If it doesn't make any feed noises trying to retrieve the paper restart the printer.

If It is attempted to feed paper remove all your paper in the tray and then add again.

My MFC8460N Brother won't print. It makes this

Gears on the tray is broken, or the gears that lift the tray. (thus the clicking noise). And the no paper is due to the actuators underneath not being activated because of the non lift.

Printer is grinding

sounds Like a paper jam , Plus your paper feed rollers are dirty, clear any paper inside the printer, the using a cloth rag and some 409 cleaner , wipe feed rollers to remove white paper dust on rollers, and let dry, then add paper to printer and it should print.

Noise

The only real common noise on that machine that I can think of is in the tray 3/4 module. When it goes to feed paper there is a gear chain that looses mesh and makes noise, doesnt feed paper , just shuts off.
Other than that, I have not seen many noises from that product.

Paper will not feed.

Hi, my name is Alex and I am here to help solve your problem regarding your printer.

Please make sure the paper is preloaded into the printer before selecting print. Also please try turning the printer off and then turn it back on and make sure the paper is loaded when doing this. This is normally a common problem so nothing to be worried about.

One other thing to do, please check inside the printer and make sure no paper is trapped in there, there shouldnt be as you would get the paper jammed window on your screen but when little bits of paper get left inside the printer, when the new paper goes to get fed inside the printer, it doesnt go down properly.

I hope this makes sense to you. Please let me know if you experience any more problems.

make sure you have the paper where it hits the part that sucks in the page to be printed (you can see the gray stucture by removing the paper and looking into where the paper is put) this might cause your papers, if you have a small amount, to bend to where the dip of the curve is facing the front of the printer. *Also the best way to prevent this is by having a LOT of paper where its fed (if the bending thing doesn't work.* Also the clicking noise is the sucking part not getting a piece of paper. This is because the paper not inserted correctly means that the pronter detects that paper is in the pronter but it can't get it.
