Re: Microscope

No. Your camera is not compatible with a microscope, but Olympus does manufacture a DP-10 microscope digital camera system designed specifically for medical and industrial use. For more information about this, please contact the Olympus Precision Instrument Division at 800-446-5967.

What is time lapse imaging?

The embryo-scope ( Time Lapse Imaging) is an incubator with a built in microscope and camera that observes the embryos and takes pictures for each embryo every 10-20 minutes (Time Lapse Imaging). By reviewing these pictures and the video recording we can closely monitor the progress of the embryos to select the best ones to be replaced. You can get more information about Time Lapse Imaging by clicking on : Fertility Test London.

Focus Mechanism Broken

Repairing compact digital camreas is virtually impossible. I doubt even Canon itslef would do it for less than the cost of a new camera. I might be wrong.

Hi

Inspect the socket connecting the USB cable
Or ingress of water, or damage the connector cable.
With the closure of some contacts on the USB connector on your camera enters the connection to the computer.
Use a magnifying glass or a microscope.
Eliminate traces of moisture or a short in the connector.

Canon SD850 focusing problem: When I zoom in, the camera no longer focuses; any shot taken with any level of zoom turns out blurry. How can I get this fixed? Thanks!

Sounds like some sand or other dirt inside the focus gears. There are very small gears in the focus system and even one piece of sand can block it at some point. The only way is to take it all apart and clean it under a microscope. I have repaired a lot of these. You will have to give it to a camera technician.

Focus problem. Coolpix 5000 mounted on Nikon microsocope for photographing tissue slides. Perfect digital images for years; now 90% poorly focused. Image viewed through microscope in perfect focus, image...

If you are initiating the shutter manually, it is quite possible that the camera has become very slightly loose at the F-mount. So, when you press the shutter button, the movement though it may be extremely slight, is shaking the camera at the exact moment you are taking the picture.
Make sure that the camera is tight to the F mount and that the F mount is secure to the microscope.

If you are initiating exposure via software, it is still possible that there is still some slight movement on your desk.
Remember, the slightest movement is magnified many, many times to the camera.

Image rings when using Coolpix for microscopy

Under some circumstances when using the Coolpix 4500 attached to a microscope concentric rings are visible as in the below. The COOLPIX 4500 aspherical lens surface is ground to create the ideal curves to gather rays at the focal point with an extremely high accuracy. Such minute lines are not visible in the image taken with a camera alone, however if the camera is used with a microscope, the lines become visible as the depth of field is increased due to the combined F numbers of the camera lens and microscope lenses.
