Question about Apple iPod nano

1 Answer

Frozen iPod Nano 4gb

When I start my iPod it will go to the Apple logo and then to the language menu. At that point, however, it will not go anywhere else. None of the buttons or the click wheel will make it leave the language menu.

I took it to the Apple retail store and they confirmed that it was a mechanical failure of the click wheel. The "genius" said that this was a rare happening, but just then another customer came up to the counter with her iPod with the same exact problem. I wonder how "rare" this problem really is?

Wrong language on ipod

This is simple but good to know.

Select your language.
If you have an iPod nano or Fifth Generation iPod (iPod with video):
  1. Scroll down to the last menu option but don't select it.
  2. Scroll up one menu item. This should be Settings.
  3. Press the Center (Select) button. This takes you to the Settings menu.
  4. Scroll down to the last menu option but don't select it; in English, this is the "Reset All Settings" option.
  5. Scroll up to the third menu item from the bottom one. This should be Language.
  6. Press the Center button to select Language.
  7. Select your preferred language from the list.

Ipod nano 4gb

First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.
