Question about LG 42LC2D 42 in. LCD HDTV

Signal intermittenly drops (no signal), or is extremely weak

Is there any thing I can do to help my elderly parents (with their LG HDTV). Problem: The TV was not a good choice of purchase but my 80 something parents went and bought it without talking to my sisters and I regarding brands. The TV had problems within the first 30 days as the digital receiver was bad and had to be replaced. That was some real drama getting the vendor (the TV-Audio store) to get in touch with the independant repair person for LG. FINALLY the man came (nearly 3+ weeks of continual contact with the vendor) and fixed the set. Then within the next few weeks the signal problem began and is increasing growing worse. The independant repair man said the trees that line the property (along the side of their house where the TV resides) could be creating signal trouble when the wind blows. However this problem is happening even when the wind is NOT blowing! Can I do sometype of a firmware update or run some troubleshooting program from my laptop to their TV? They do not have Internet access nor do they have Cable TV or Direct Satelite TV.

Wondering if you can recommend anything of assistance here.
Thank you!

My LG 37LC4 37 in. HDTV LCD has worked fine for ten months or so, but then started to get no picture and a 'weak signal' message on loads of digital channels. Auto tuning now only finds 17 tv channels instead of 80 or so. Even more confusing, the channels it does find have really good signals (as high as 100%) indicating there might be a transmitter problem affecting certain channels. EXCEPT that the other LCD TV in the next room, working off the same aerial and signal booster, still picks up all 80- channels.

I've checked the aerial in the loft which is quite new and hasn't moved since it was installed and set up. I've checked the coax cables and (i) swapped the tv to aerial socket cable, and (ii) remade the connections in the wall socket to signal booster cable... so I'm beginning to think it might be a problem with the TV.

Is it possible that a software/hardware problem could allow some channels to be recieved perfectly and others not at all?

    Cheers for now...

You could consider buying an External antenna. But do have a professional to come out and install it or follow the manuals instructions exactly and dont replace or substitute any parts. otherwise improper grounding will damage the TV.

I have a timing problem. Low idle speed that is intermitten and causes a stumble at starts. This problem also occurres during normal running RPM's. Missing electronic signal but intermitten?

Could be bad sensor whether crank sensor, sam sensor, idle air control sensor, bad ignition module, bad coil or even timing belt. if you have a service engine soon light/creck engine light it's more than likely a sensor. If no light, probably timing belt/fuel filter plugged/ or weak fuel pump.

I currently have a LG900G, the signal strength has been extremely weak since I've had it. I have not been able to find a solution to this problem as it causes dropped calls and sometimes does regi

Hello Dennis,

I had a similar problem with an LG 800 phone I had to get a "Wilson Electronics 815225 Sleek Booster Single" for it to use the phone in the basement apartment where I live and it works great I get three to four bars now. However it costs about 80.00 at Walmart, and Amazon, I couldn't use the reception booster while away from home though so I found out that Samsung, phones work much better here and most other areas as well. I hope this helps

Connectivity dropping and weak signals on all devices

Hi,
I understand that your router's signal is weak and other connections drop because of that.
To resolve this issue, I would suggest you to change the wireless channel to 1(one). Because, the frequency on Channel 1 will not interfere with other RF frequencies.

Thanks,

Most of the channels breaking up despite auto retuning

could be one of a few things,
low signal strength, aerial out of line with transmitter.
bad coax connections losing signal strength.
coax broken inside, or old and not low loss.
Get the aerial checked for direction, half a degree out of line over a few miles and you will lose a lot of signal strength, as will old coax (aerial cable) and if you are using an unshielded coax you could be losing signal strength through the cable itself. Replace the connecters and try to use a straight run of cable instead of having joins in it as these joins, even if using connecters, will cause a weak signal. If yiu are running more than one tv off your aerial, invest in a booster.

Lg ke850 no or weak signal

Let the technician dismantle the phone and and repark it properly because it may be a problem of improper fixing.

I would also want to know if the original housing was maintained or the housing was changed. Some phones do get signal problem upon changing their housing.

No OTA channels

This television has an extremely weak tuner. It is very sensitive to both ghosting (multipath) and weak signal conditions, which cause it's digital decoder to "error out". Coupled with this is the decoder's long set-up time (time to actually begin a decoded video stream after signal is selected)and you find that every time the decoder loses sync it takes several seconds to reestablish normal decoding. The net result is the possiblity that the tuner will be continually restarting and never display anything. An extremely directional antenna may help. Otherwise, find a good external tuner box and use that.

Weak/No signal

Opening your browser. Looking in your manual there is an instruction telling you how to connect directly with your modem. Type that address in, enter the user name and password it tells you. Then look through several of the option tabs it will display. There will be one that controls the "transmit power" level. Once you find it, change it to 100% if it something less than that. That should fix your problem.
