Question about Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball

1 Answer

Trackball marble The cable on the Logitech trackball Marble breaks inside the sleeve near to the unit. It's the best unit available for photo and fine detail work. My third one has just suffered a cable fracture which is too fiddly to fix unless a replacement cable was available. I'm sure that this is a common fault and that ones offered as reconditioned have had a new cable fitted. the cable plugs into the circuit board and would be easy to replace if such a part was available to the normal consumer. Any ideas please?

First contact Logitech and see if they have a repair/warranty solution.
Then contact Cyberguys for a new mouse. They also have in wireless.

Why won't my Logitech Traackman MArble FX work with Windows 7?

If you are trying to convert your Logitech Trackman Marble FX from PS2 to USB so it will work with Windows 7, you can't just convert the port type - you have to get an "adapter" that converts the PS2 signal to a USB signal. See for ATen - UC 100KMA. WEB SIte:
http://www.aten.com/products/KVM/KVM-Modules-&-Accessories/PS2-to-USB-Adapter~UC100KMA.html#.U5sYrCi4NAE.

It allows you to convert a PS2 keyboard and PS2 mouse/trackball with the one device. It's what I use and it works just fine. The regular $2.00 port adapter was useless.

They are on EBAY sometimes for $20 or so. GOOD LUCK. :)

I have a logitec trackball marble mouse usb for one computer and ps2 socket for another, both have 5 screws. To find the fifth you have to feel about on the sticker on the back and poke a hole in it.

I clean my marble with a mild dish soap. Dry. Then spray the ball with Pledge or some other furniture polish. Let dry for a few minutes and then polish with a lint free cloth. I have to do mine every 6 months or so. When cleaning the contacts I only use a small paintbrush. If you get alcohol on the sensory window, although using a q-tip, you can still scratch the surface.

Good Luck...

love this trackball mouse, yet they are very sensitive to wear and trash that causes them to fail. Wal-Mart sells great ones like the Logitech LX3 optical mouse that are not as sensitive and have more features
