I have a similar problem. The Volumebutton works really strange. When turning up the volume it´s going down and the other way around.

With the remote controle it works fine.

I tried to clean the inside by removing the cover but is does not help.

Has anyone an idea what it can be?

    Kind regards,

    Johan Knopper

I also have exactly the same problem with the volume control. I was hoping to resolve the problem by doing some internal cleaning but seems like johanknopper tried it before.

I was thinking of buying a remote control separately as I lost mine in relocations. Found a second hand on-line but I am not sure if they all have the same frequency and if it works with mine.

Any Ideas?

Had the same problem. Volume went up or down at random when volumepot was turned. It even did go to max on it's own!! Not nice.
Fixed it too :) You gotta take the volume 'potentiometer' out of the frontpanel. Once out, ply back the four metal clips and take off the aluminium part. Then you see the inside of this 'potentometer'. It's a special one as it has a metal ring at the edge and a 'toothwheel' like inner part and a few little pins which slide against these. Mine were covered with grease which took some time to clean off with cotton swaps and alcohol. Guess the grease got in from the potentiometer shaft. Refitted everything and it worked fine again.
To get to the potentiometer: Take the stereo cover off, take two more side screws off and 5 more from the underside just below the cassette player. Switch on the stereo and push the button to open the CD player slide. Switch off again while slide is open. At the bottom tilt the plastic edges till they slide over their edges to release them. You can now slide the whole frontpanel far enough forward to get access to the volume potentiometer from the inside. Pull the plastic button from it at the frontpanel and unscrew the pot fixing screw. At the other side (inside) you'll see a little pcb where the pot is soldered onto. Pull the pot backwards. Unsolder the three wires going to it and you can take the pot out for cleaning. Many words but once started it will show itself. Good luck. You can do it too :)

I cant hear the music very well... it is very faint and i have my speakers plugged in. how do i turn up the volume? i cant find any buttons to do so.

CD changers don't normally drive speakers (the lack of a volume control and speaker connections being a HUGE clue). What are you using for a speaker amplifier?

On a sony cdp-ce275 5-disc cd changer where is the volume button or nob? we got one donated to our program but we can't control the volume

since it is a changer and not a receiver there is no volume as that is controlled by a separate amplifier.
