My hp elite won't turn on. it was running fine, and I left home for an hour, came back and it was off and wouldn't start. it's only 3 years old. The little green light on the back stays lit for awhile after plugged in and after unplugged. I don't know what the problem is i'm devastated..I've been told it could be the power supply. I hate to go spend a lot of moneyt have it tested and to find it's dead for good. Is there possibly anyway to get it running again?

The green power light will stay on after it is unplugged, as there is still residual power in the unit. The symptoms you describe point to blown main capacitors in the PSU, the only way to check is by fitting a new PSU (recommend one of 700 watts minimum). Not very expensive and as long as you are careful, easy to fit
