You need to defrost your unit. your freezer is most likely running to cold and is freezing in your lines.

once you are done put your set your temperature settings low and turn up your temperature slowly until you reach an ideal temperature

Why is water leaking from front of bottom freezer?

Your refrigerator defrost on the average about every 8 hours so the water that accumulates during defrost has to go somewhere right? You have a defrost drain blockage.
We need to see if the water is overflowing the condensate drain tray or if the blockage is in the turn the drain leads down back of your refrigerator. Much more on this page=> Leaking Refrigerators! Not all blocke drains act the same when your refrigerator leaks so please ask should you have questions. Please provide the model number found around the fresh food section door frame. Kenmore model numbers look like this example=> 321.1234567 If you run into any problems along the way of repair please let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Leaking Kenmore Refidgator

What is your model number? Sears Kenmore numbers look like this 321.2468102 I hear a lot of complaints from people that see water leaking into their refrigerator from seemingly nowhere. Water appears in different places and even inside or under a refrigerators that does not have a water or a ice dispenser! Frost free refrigerators defrost the ice that collects on the evaporator coil. Your refrigerator defrost on the average about every 8 hours so the water that accumulates during defrost has to go somewhere right? Yes the water is supposed to drain down a small drain line to a pan down near the compressor where warm air from the condenser fan will blow warm air over the water and evaporate the water again an put it back into the air inside your home, office or wherever your refrigerator is located. Over time that little drain tube gets slime, algae and a gooey white paste gunk that fills the drain line sides up stopping the waterflow downward to the condensate pan below refrigerator. If blocked by gunk or ice you will see trails of liquid leaking down the rear wall of fresh food compartment until it reaches the crisper drawers. Gunk is an accumulation of algae slime and just crud that appears from nowhere in a refrigerators defrost condensate drain line. How a refrigerator leaks is not always the same with every model as you may see frozen ice flowing down the rear wall of freezers on side by sides. Here is an example of a ET18PKXGTO Whirlpool refrigerator leaking water into a cup below the freezer compartment. Click here=> Whirlpool Leak Photo taken by TechnicianBrian. TechnicianBrian.com. And in this photo are several parts listed in photo group #1 were it is most likely running down the wall=> MagicChef CTB1921AR fresh food section. If you still have questions please ask and rate me if I was able to explain this well enough. Every refrigerator is made different so these are examples only. The key is to find if ice or just gunk has blocked you defrost drain. Unplug and then remove the rear panel in back of freezer. We need to see if the water is overflowing the condensate drain tray or if the blockage is in the turn the drain leads down back of your refrigerator. Much more on this page=> Leaking Refrigerators! Water collecting in bottom of freezer

Your seal may be bad letting in moist air that provides a source of water to condense on parts of the freezer.

Puddles of water in the fridge

OK that sounds like Ice may be blocking the defrost condensate drain. I will need your model number to help me to identify your model better but can leave you with some information about water leaking inside the freezer or fresh food compartment. Sears use a model number found around your door frame and looks like this for example 312.56989 Be right back with some links, Thanks Sea Breeze

Water accumulating in bottom of kenmore

It's likely the condensate drain is plugged. You can access it from the back of the refrigerator. You can disconnect from the inside of the fridge and blow it out to ensure it is not blocked, then reconnect.

Water accumulating in top shelf of refrigerator

Get yourself a thermeter and see what the tempeature is in the freezer. It should be "0" degrees or colder. If it is hanging around 30 degrees +/- you may have a compressor or control problem. You may have a drain tube clogged that takes the water out of the freezer. I am not familar with your model but many freezers are similar.

Refrigerator condensation

I have a Kenmore Coldspot Model 70262990. When I get wet shelves (water, not just condensation), I was able to trace my source to the cold air vent from the freezer. In my case, the water melts from the evaporator and collects in the rear lower section of the freezer. It is "supposed" to go down the drain tube. However I had the drain hole freeze over. Then additional water from the defrost cycle would accumulate in the freezer floor (under the plastic floor) and eventually find its way down the cold air vent between the freezer and refrigerator section. You'll need to unplug the unit, take the plastic floor out of the freezer, remove the evaporator panel to access the defrost drain, melt the frozen water (hair drier works nice), and remove all the water (towel/sponge & bucket). Make sure the drain is not frozen and not blocked. Then put it back together and plug it in.

Does anyone know how to stop the drain tube from freezing over?

Good luck.

Kenmore side by side refrigerator model 106.56532400

Hi,
Thanks for taking this question.
Kenmore 22 cft side by side does not have air circulation. Freezer is cold at the bottom (ranges 5-45 deg from bottom to top). Refrigerator section is 30- 60 deg from bottom to top. Thermostat is good; compressor is working; no ice deposit on the evaporator coils; condenser coils have been cleaned; defrost heater is working. I do not feel the air draft I used to notice whenever opened refrigerator door. Is it possible that the air recirculation fan not operating. Location of this fan in the refrigerator? Regards, Prem
