I have an hp compaq dx2400 micro tower desktop , but it doesn't work when I pluget it to the monitor,PLEASE HELP I HAVE A LOT OF DATA ON THAT PC

Make sure you are set up for correct monitor. If keyboard lights flash and HD beeps, but no picture, you may have an incorrect monitor setup. In BIOS, make sure you are set for proper internal/external video, and be sure to plug into right port.

Computer stopped working

I would remove the access panel to get to the inside where the power cord plugs in, maybe it just needs to be pushed back into place. Once you can get your pictures off, take the PC to Goodwill. Old computer are not worth the repair. These days you can get a new desktop PC for under $500.

It would be impossible to diagnose your problem without more information.
You may need to take it to a repair shop.
Is your battery faulty?
Are there any lights on the laptop when yopu plug it in?
Have you checked the fuse in the power adapter?

My lap top sounds like it is on helium

You may either have a loose connection in your sound card, or you may need a new one.

Try taking it out and re-plugging it in to see if there was a loose connection.

Your low Hz frequencies are off. Try sound settings alterizations in your control panel.

First I would replace the connection cord to the computer that is not working. Try switching the cords to test them. The router may have a reset button. Turn the router off for at least three minutes, and try again.

Acer extensa 4620Z laptop computer will not re-charge battery. The cord going to the outlet has power...green light...but no lights are on lap top and it is securely pluged into lap top. - When I...

It could be one of three things. It could be a bad battery, a bad ac adapter, or the recharging circuitry could be bad. I would try pulling the battery out, and see if the laptop will startup and run strictly off of the ac adapter. If that does not work, you have a bad ac adapter. If that works, and the battery has any charge left, try running it strictly on the battery. If it doesnt work, you have a bad battery. If it does work, the circuitry is bad and you will probably need new motherboard. One other thing you can check is where the ac adapter and battery plug into the laptop, and make sure there is no corrosion that could be causing a short.

My puppy has chewed my lap top cord, how can I get another one? The damaged part is the half of the cord that goes into the laptop, the other half that goes into the wall is undamaged. Thanks Val

You can purchase a universal laptop cord at most stores that sell computers. They generally run about $80 - $120. You may have better luck checking ebay for your specific models cord, you likely could get it for much less.
