Question about Insignia IS-LCDTV32 32 in. Television

1 Answer

Insigna TV Hey, seems like you managed to solve a problem that everyone has with this 32 in TV. I wondered where you got the capacitors from. Can you let me know. And while you were in the set, is the power supply a seperate unit from the mother board, can it be changed altogether? Thanks in advance for your response.

Hey there, I have a 6 month old vizio 32" LCD 60hz

LCD inverter module may have encountered a failure. Most common is an electrolytic capacitor failing in the power supply. Examine the board to see if any of the caps have a bloated or raised top, they should not be swollen or leaky. If so find the replacement capacitor # on line and replace. You will require a modicum of soldering skills. You indicate the tv is 6 months old.
Return it for warranty service, do not open your tv or you will void your consumer warranty.

TV Turns on picture comes on for 30 seconds then picture goes off and sound stays on. Even after leaving tv on the sound stays but the picture does not come back on. Its a westinghouse SK-32H540S

This is not the fix for this TV. I guarantee that none of the capacitors exhibit the common bulging characteristics of a faulty capacitor. The common answers to everyone's questions are to replace the capacitors. Most likely the culprit is the inverter board.

TV just shuts off on it own... Have a westinghouse LTV-27-W2 TV purchased in 2005. It's been shutting off for no apparent reason... I wonder if it's going bad or is it the power cord.

Most likely, a number of capacitors need to be replaced in the power supply on this set, OR possibly, there is a bad connection on a connection on the snubber capacitor in the power supply, near the SMT transformer--and I have seen this MANY times on westinghouse LCD sets. .

Toshiba 32 RegzaNo picture, but hear sound

The most i have seen an inverter board go for on a 32 inch tv is about 300$ and that was shipped from japan, not having the actual part number off the board makes it difficult to lookup. I usually charge about 100$ to do this type of replacement. so they do seem a bit overpriced, considering it also may just be a bad capacitor or 2 causing the board to fail, they run about 5$ each. If you have another repair shop in the area i would call them and shop around. If everyone seems to have the same amount of price in mind, it may be just time to get a new tv, with the release of the LED HD tv's the prices for lcd are dropping drasticaly , you should be able to get a much larger one for the same price as you paid for that one .

Red color appear on my Insigna TV

This most likely a problem with the back lights and inverters circuits. The back lights may be receiving low voltages from the inverter circuit causing the led's not to function correctly. This needs to be tested by someone who can check the inverter circuits for correct voltage levels and the backlights for proper functioning. This usually has to be done in a service center.Try this website for Help and possible repair. Will not turn on, red light as off, when I push power the red light goes off but

Look for 2 pico fuses in the secondary section of the power supply. I'm sure one of them is blown, that is why the 24 volts are missing.
I will let you know the locations later when I get home.
Good Luck.

Problems with Soyo DYLT032C 32 in. LCD Television. The TV will not turn on, I have un-plugged it and plugged it back in, in hopes it would re-set the tv. Do you have any suggestions?

Long story short:
Had the same problem with my Soyo.
Thought it was the power supply board problem that everyone else was reporting.
ordered one.  Plugged it in.  Did not work.
Inspected the Main/Logic board and found what looked like a black button that could be depressed.  It is located to the right of main processor on the board.  You can't really miss it.
With the TV plugged in, I pressed the suspect button.  The TV made a buzzing/clicking noise for a few moments and the stuck blue illuminated power button faded away.
Curious by this, I pressed the power button and low and behold the TV comes to life!
Looks like I found a "reset" button which seems to have fixed my problem.
Thanks Soyo for not bothering to mention that such a button exists.
I hope the rest of you have the same good luck.  In the event you are still in need of a power supply board, email me.  I have a spare now it seems.  ;)
