Hi there i have a xerox workcwnter 416 pro and i want to use it as a printer too. while i try to sent i test page from windows 2000 it doesnt do anything and on the printer properties gives me after a few min a erorr that the page cant be printed. while i installed the drives it fond the machine and the installation was completed with out any problem. any idea why that is happening? my conection to the printer is via the LPT1. any help will be apriciated kindly

have you checked your firewall?
Often times, even though you can ping the printer, the firewall will block the data going to the printer.

Your main drive motor is either not statting or the main board is not sensing it. You can remove the covers, WITH THE MACHINE UNPLUGGED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and reset all the connectors, check the drive motor, and see if maybe a gear is broken., If the machien is less than 1 year old. Call 1-800-835-6100. You will have some kind of 1 year warranty, Either on site or in depot repair, which would mean they will ship you a new machine with a box to return the one you have. If you call, make sure you have the serial number handy so it can verify the warranty.

try reseting the nvram. if no luck after that try changing the image control board.. with another one if it's avaliable.(maybe you have another machine around. If not then conect your printer to the network reset the printer so you can get an ip address.. usually it's a 192.168.*.* Then type that ip address 192.168.*.* into the top of your web address bar and you should be able to see you printer. If not i would change the image control board because it might be bad.
