90 cavalier did running wont start back fire from intake

Your timing belt may have broken or jumped a tooth. In either case, you need to replace it (CORRECTLY).

It's also possible that you have one intake valve stuck open, but I'd bet more money on the timing belt.

The self-propelled mechanism on my EZ Walk Craftsman does not work. Anyone have a solution?

What you can try is to open the case surrounding the self-propelled drive and make sure that the belt has not either slipped off or has broken. Depending on the model, the case has two or four screws securing it to the frame of the mower. If the belt has slipped off, you can unscrew the tension screw and slip the belt back on and then tighten the tension screw so that there is enough tension on the belt to keep it from slipping off.

If the belt has become broken, you can purchase a new one from Lowes or Home Depot for approximately 15.00. The change out procedure is pretty straight forward and shouldn't take longer than 5-10 minutes.

If the belt is fine (not loose or broken) it could be a gear problem in the drive wheel, in that case you are in a little bit more trouble than simply replacing the belt.

Hope this information helps.

Not spinning and dial is loose

Make a quick check on the dial by removing it and get a pair of pliers and turn it to see if the machine will spin. If this is the case you will need a new knob for your dial. If it is not spinning then your belt is broken or dislodge. Unplug the machine and open the access panel to look inside and see if your belt is either broken or dislodge. If dislodge I suggest to get a new belt and make sure that you install the belt correctly for the drum to turn in the correct direction. Good Luck!

I think the belt is broken on my Bell and Howell 8mm projector (Lumina II TX37). Can you tell me how to open the case to get to the belt?

Remove the screws on the back case don't for get the one where the spare bulb is kept. Also remove the two screws that hold the power cord retainer in place. This will allow you to completely remove the cover from the unit. How ever the tricky part will be replacing the belt because you will have to remove the drive shaft in order to get the new belt over the pulleys. If the belt is not broken and just slipping try cleaning it with alcohol. It worked for me but I found two idler wheels had disintegrated in the clutch assm. Good luck.

Drum does not agitate water goes in and it just humms, no agitation or spin

The drive belt is broken or the motor's rotor is stuck. Open the door and rotate the drum manually. The drive belt is worn or broken if you can freely rotate the drum. The rotor is most probably stuck if you cannot turn the drum.

Visual check can be done by removing the back panel. Remove the screws holding it to the cabinet and pull it off. Replace the belt if it is worn or broken. Simply wrap it around the drive motor pulley and on one side of the drum pulley. Rotate the drum pulley in such a way that the belt completely wraps around it.

Try to free the rotor if it's stuck by lubricating it and forcibly turning it back and forth until it turns freely. To remove the motor, disconnect the motor wiring harness and ground wire from the terminals and remove the mounting bolt. Pull the motor out of the mounting slots. To reinstall or replace, simply slide it back into the mounting slots and secure it with the mounting bolt.

In some cases, the drum will not spin due to a broken drum pulley. Post it back if that is the case.

Drawer won't open for dvd, makes sound but wont open, panasonic sa-pt760

The small belt inside the drive is most likely out of place or broken.
That is the most likely cause, you will have to open the dvd player in any case to find out the issue and to replace the belt if that is the issue.
You can eject the drive manually to find the fault by rotating the gears once you get inside.

Dryer comes on but cylinder does not turn or spin.

This problem is commonly caused by a broken or loose dryer belt2.gif. Worse case scenario would be a bad drive motor. You will need to open the dryer cabinet in order to verfiy if the belt is still intact. A visual inspection should confirm if the belt is still wrapped around the drum and tight. If the belt is missing, the only way it will come off the drum is if it breaks. You will need to replace it if this is the case.

If you need further guidance, please post back with your brand name and model number so that I may be able to provide better assistance. All dryers are not contructed the same and I will need to be able to explain to you how to open the cabinet. I hope this helps you.

Drum does not turn

Here are a few things to check. If you don't feel comfortable performing these check, please have a repair person come in and check it.

* Broken belt. Open dryer and see if belt is still wrapped around the drum. Pull on the belt to make sure it's not just hanging there. Inspect belt condition. Do not apply spray adhesive in this case: replace the belt. If belt is broken, look for contributing causes for failure such as worn drum rollers, damaged felt kit, or stiff idler roller.

* Motor burned out. Remove belt from motor pulley and start dryer. If motor runs but is noisy and motor is unable to turn the drum when the drum belt is threaded back on the motor pulley, then replace the motor.

* Thermal fuse is open. Run continuity test.

Hope this helps.
