Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600 Digital Camera

1 Answer

SONY DSC-S600 Sorry, no actual error -- what happens is this:- Power on camera, message comes up "Turn the power off and on again". Tried this-no good. New batteries-still no good. Sometimes it will start with an "Access" screen and then go into the "Turn the power off" message. Hope this explains the prob better Regards Sandra

If you are able to access the MENU option, then try to initilize the camera by following the steps mentioned below:

Please press MENU to display the menu items.
Please go to the SETUP menu and select the SETUP 1 option of the Camera.
You would see the intialize option.

Thanks

THE SHUTTER WILL ONLY PARTLY OPEN AND WHEN YOU POWER UP YOU GET THE MESSAGE TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN ? THANKS !

Hi,

Error: TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the SET UP1 Menu of the Camera to OK.This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

Thanks

Sony cybershot dsc-w80 - not working due to error message

I just tried the same thing as a last resort (knocking my camera on the table) with my DSW-100 and it actually worked! My camera has not been working for two weeks because it keeps turning itself on and off with the same error message. I can't believe that actually worked.

Error message on display

Had the same problem, turn on camera wait until power up is complete and turn it off again. Give lens area a firm hit and turn camera on error should be fixed. try several times as it may not work first time. This worked for me hope it helps
