Hi, the fastest cpu supported by the Extensa 5420 series is the AMD Turion x64 TL-66, a dual core with a frequency of 2,3Ghz and 2x512kb of internal cache. You can find more info here: http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/0000/Acer/Extensa5420G/Extensa5420Gsp2.shtml Hope it helped, Franz
You can't increase the video memory on a laptop...as games update/upgrade, the video requirements often increase as well. So, what used to work with less video ram won't now.
You could try decreasing the number of video colors your system displays - for example from 32 bit to 16 bit. You'll see what I'm talking about when you open the properties for your desktop and click on video settings.
Hi there. I recommend you get another stick of SODIMM to replace what seems to be the faulty stick. If you are using XP or Vista X86 (32bit) then the system will only recognize 2.8 - 3GB of memory, only 64bit operating systems recognize the full 4GB.
VISTA HAS PROBLEMS WITH CERTAIN GRAPHICS CARDS AND WITH JAVA-SCRIPT -APPLETTS, CHECK AND SEE HOW MUCH MEMORY YOUR COMPUTER CAME WITH, I HAD A CUSTOMER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND VISTA DEMANDS A LOT OF WHAT IS CALLED SYSTEM-MEMORY FOR SIMPLE THINGS THAT THE COMPUTER DOES. AFTER UPGRADING THE MEMORY AND THE HARD DRIVE IT STILL PERSISTED SO EVENTUALLY SHE BACK-GRADED TO XP WITH SERVICE PACK 2, BUT IF YOU WANT TO KEEP VISTA GO TO MICROSOFT UPDATES AND SEE IF THEY HAVE A UTILITIES SUITE THAT CAN HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. KEEP ME POSTED JON T
