I'm assuming the IP address of 192.168.0.199 is actually that of the computer you are using and not that of the Seagate. You need to determine the address of the Seagate, download this: PortScan
Unzip and run it. Start address is 192.168.0.1, end address is 192.168.0.255 (it should automatically detect this). The scan will display a list of all the devices connected to your network and attempt to display what it is. Locate the Seagate and enter its IP in the text box.
SOURCE: FTP not working on BlackArmor
Check on BlackArmor Manager that the FTP mode is enabled for the folder you want access to.
You can check it by typing "http://192.168.1.66" in the adress bar on your explorer, enter your login and password ("admin" and "admin" by default), then click
storage -> shares
if "FTP" is disabled, click on the pen (modify) and enable it. don't forget to click "submit" ;-)
Hope it was helpful

Sounds like a software problem with your BlackArmor or perhaps a failing drive. You might contact a low cost data recovery service such as http://FreeDataRecovery.us
They perform online data recovery over the internet and also offer do-it-yourself data recovery advice.
Pl note that only Windows 7 Ultimate or Professional supports downgrade rights to Windows Vista Ultimate, Business or Windows XP Professional.
You can do a downgrade as long as you have a full version Windows Vista license.
If you are referring to Windows 7 downgrade rights, this option is specific to the manufacturer, computer model and the edition of Windows 7 you have installed.
