First of all check if the power feed is'nt broken.
If the defect is realy in the motherboard, you should replace the motherbord because the onboard memory and processor could be damaged by the defect.

Ps2 slimline wont stay on red light goes on then off

The problem is most commonly the ac power cord. I have a PS2 slimline and I had a power cord that fit into the slot and was completly similar to the original cord ,but you may need to order a new cord to solve your red light situation.

PS2 Slim wont turn on

You might try a friends ps2 power supply of the same type to make shure it isnt the ps2 that is broken. If the friends power supply works, get a working one from ebay or something.

My slimline ps2 switch is jammed

if you have warrenty by all means get it repaired , but if not go onto ebay buy the switch unit and Turn off the ps2 while on to discharge it , make sure you touch your hand on a metal object every 15min open up the ps2 and on the right or left should be the switch and you pull on the ribbon VERY LIGHTLY and it should pop out (cable)and you should be able to take out the switch and then replace switch and connect it .Close the console and see if it works
