Modern sets have certain protective circuits to avoid catching fire.
The clicking you are hearing is probably from a relay that is part of this protection or could be caused by high voltage arcing; either condition is not in the realm of a do-it-yourself repair.

I have a 42 in. plasma flatscreen TV Model #42PFP5332D-37. When I turn it on it just keeps clicking for a long time and then it will give me a picture. One day it click for 4 hrs. and then the picture...

That is caused by capacitor bleed of the larger of the High Voltage capacitor as it arcs to ground. The clicking you hear is this arc grounding. To verify this reduce your room lighting and look through the vent holes on your TV set. You should see intermittent flashes of light. If this is the case you can follow my guide which shows you how to identify, and replace your powerboard.

No picture

(i) Disconnect all the cables from the TV including the power cable then reconnect them after a few minutes.
(ii) Make sure that the power cord from the TV is directly connected to a functional wall outlet.

If the standby light keeps flashing then service will be required.

TV WENT OFF BY ITSSELF

This may denote a proble in either your switching powers supply or your Horizontal section derived high voltage power supply. These are both very dangerous sections in your television. My next question is important; do you have a background in electronics? If not I would not advise you working on this problem yourself and that you take the TV to a repair shop for servicing. If you do have some background in electronics, I would like for you to make the following obeservations: What was the TV doing (it actions)prior to it going out? Did you hear any sounds before it went out like buzzing or crackling? What do you hear when you try to turn it on now, clicking? These questions are just to develop some background into what might be happening to your set. Thank you, Shuttle83
