Is there a way to operate the aux line 1 and 2 without a remote

I programmed a Radio Shack 5-in-one remote to my Apex DT-250. Select cabel/satelite, hold p until the light blinks twice, then enter the code 0749. It works! If your universal remote uses a three digit code, use 749. If it uses a five digit code, use 00749. I HAVE A PROBLEM THOUGH... I don't know how to scan for channels! It says "please do auto channel search", but how do I do that? Please, if anyone has this answer, let me know. I finally programmed the universal remote, but it's basically useless without being able to do an auto channel search.

On the TV set, channel buttons. Turn channel down below ch 1. You should see Line 1 Line 2 etc before hitting the highest channel# Yours may say Aux 1 (or Aux 2)

Here is what I did for my Bose Solo Tv to work on the Bell 9242 receiver.( see page 17 of Bell 9242 guide) 1. Hold down the aux button until all lights flash. 2. Press 2 to ensure Aux is set to audio. 3.Enter code 761 and press the pound (#) button. Now to have the satellite remote default volume to Bose Solo do the following. 1.Press and hold AUX 2.press # pound 3. Press the + side of volume 4. Press 0 5. Press pound ( AUX button will flash 3 times) 6. Press SAT mode 7. Test the volume on Bose Solo. (see page 22 of Bell 9242 guide)

Most video's will switch to aux imputs by pressing the up & Down channel selectors.

The key is having at least a Universal Remote ($10.00 or less) that will operate your brand of TV. Your TV is only looking at "stations". You need to make it see Aux-1, Aux-2, or Line In mode. BUT, another trick is to run the DVD into your VCR (if capable). Select the VCR proper "input mode" (Aux-1, Aux-2, or Line In mode) then the DVD will play through the VCR and it will play through the TV on either channel 3 or 4. Problem solved!
