The DCR-TRV22E Camcorder can be connected to the Macintosh Computer with the i.LINK (Firewire) cable. The Software supplied with the Camcorder is not compatible with the Macintosh Computer. Instead you've to use the Firewire cable for connecting the Camcorder to the Computer. You can use the iMovie Software for transferring the videos. You do not require any drivers from Sony, to transfer the video via i.LINK.
You require to purchase either a 4 - pin to 4 - pin or a 4 - pin to 6 - pin i.LINK / Firewire cable depending on the number of pins on the i.LINK / Firewire port of your computer (since Camcorder will have only 4PIN i-LINK, while the Computer may have a 4PIN or 6 PIN i.LINK port).

This solution is only applicable for the selected camcorder models. You can follow the steps mentioned below for the DCRHC36 models.
Turn on the computer.
On the computer, install the USB driver from the CD-ROM supplied with the camcorder.
Only the USB driver included on the supplied CD-ROM will properly enable the camcorder for USB streaming. The USB Streaming Driver can only be installed from the supplied Software CD.
Turn the camcorder on to the PLAY/EDIT mode.
Turn on the USB streaming feature in the camcorder menu. P-MENU? PICT.APPLI.Menu? USB SELECT? STREAM
Connect the USB cable to the camcorder.
Connect the other end of the USB cable to the computer.
Cue the video to the beginning of the video footage to be transferred.
Start the video capture software on the computer. You can try Software like Windows Movie Maker
oNOTE: The computer must have compatible video capture software to complete this procedure. Many video editing software applications include a capture function. If you have video editing software, you might not need a separate video capture application.
Begin playing the recorded video in the camcorder.
Begin importing the recorded video with the capture software.
