If the printouts are not aligned properly with the page, it can only be a roller problem as far as I can see.

Start of checking whether the paper-aligning arms are set for A4 (or whatever size you are using) and restest.

If everything appears to be feeding IN to the printer correctly, then there's a possibility that one of the rollers has seized up... a bit like if a tank's left-side track stopped, it would start turning left in a circle.

If you are willing to take a plunge and strip down the printer so you can access the many rollers and feeds inside, you could probably identify which rubber wheel is jammed and perhaps free it up. It could be something as simple as one of the rubber wheels having grease on it... so the paper sort of slides through it instead of being steadily fed through.

If it's a cheap printer, it's not worth having a technician look at it. You'd get a new cheap printer for the same price as his consultation fee! Good luck!

Print head seems to be out of alignment. Lines of print seem skewed and blurry. Edges of pictures are not in alignment.

Run the alignment in the maintenance software. Each new print head must be aligned.
Possibly release and remove the print cartridge and reinsert it. Maybe it is skewed.

Canon MX700 with new cyan cartridge very faint

The print head needs a chemical solution. You have to soak it to chemical solution to unclog it. It should be a chemical solution that is really use for print head. If it does not work, the worse thing to do is to buy a new print head.

Canon mx700 paper won't go through either feeder

Get good fresh, dry paper. Don't force anything. If you are using photo quality paper, make sure it is right side up.

Canon PIXMA MX700 printhead immediately coated with ink, smudges

It's likely that the foam pads that the print head rests on when the printer is not in use are saturated with ink. They're to the right as you look into the printer: a rectangular one for black ink and a square one for the colored ink. If you power the printer off and back on, with the cover open, you'll see where the printhead goes to rest.

The pads aren't easy to get at, but you can blot them with a paper towel. Gummy, half-dried ink dissolves in rubbing alcohol, and you can soak a paper towel or a cotton ball with alcohol and wipe down the area. I've had good luck soaking the pads with alcohol, then blotting them dry with a rag.

Dear Winsor Family,

It sounds as though you still have a small peice of paper caught in the auto sheet feed assembly. This is the part just behind the carriage rail. This is not an issue that any body other than a canon technician can fix. It will most likely involve the stripping down of the unit and the consequent re aligning of the asf. this can only be done by a trained technician.
