Question about Samsung ML 1610 Laser Printer

New cartridge won't work; old cartridge works (and re-instals) fine.

Bought a brand-new (and exorbitantly priced!) ML-1610D2 toner cartridge for the ML-1610 - the exact same type of cartridge we've successfully installed and used before.

But now, when the new cartridge is installed, the printer whirs for a few minutes, then stops. If you send something to the print queue, it half-collects the first sheet of paper but doesn't print anything. It's as though it doesn't recognise the new cartridge, or as though the manufacturers have changed some detail on the cartridge since we bought the last one.

I sent back for a replacement (!), but the problem persists.

We bought the printer from Staples, and I don't expect high-tech advice from a stationery emporium (!).

Suggestions?

Check if the Toner is all the way in, you should hear a click, if not then something wrong or you installed it incorrectly.

i had that issue before, i didn't push it all the way in. and it whirrs but doesn't print.

How would you replace a toner in the Samsung ML 2851 laser printer?


Are u facing error of " replace toner " or you want to repalce toner.

Samsung CLP-315 eats toner. Cartridges last almost


ean_inkrefills on ebay. Search on the terms "samsung clp 315 toner refill solution". Chip installs on the printer motherboard--installation is not overly difficult, but still not for the faint-hearted. I expect it voids the printer warranty. Ean gives good email support.

Maybe the toner is low... According to the manual, a blinking red light:

• A minor error is occurring and
the printer is waiting for the error
to be cleared. When the problem
is cleared, the printer resumes
printing.
• The toner cartridge is low. Order
a new toner cartridge. You can
temporarily improve print quality
by redistributing the toner. See
page 8.3.
• The toner is totally exhausted.
Remove the old toner cartridge
and install a new one. See page
8.4.
• The toner cartridge reached the
end of its life.

CRU Fse error


Was the "Off Brand Toner" a used refill cartridge? Usually this error is caused when the drum (That statically attracts the toner to it) has worn out. This can be caused by too much light exposure, or just from overuse.

I would suggest bringing back the cartridge where you bought it from and asking them to switch it out.
