I can't locate my manual for my TB 525ET Trimmer. I had the trimmer in the shop for a tune up in Jajuary and I am about to use it for the first time this year. When I checked the oil, I did not see any. What grade oil goes in it?

check that the air cleaner is clean and the muffler is not blocked

Could be anything from a stripped drive shaft to a loose or stripped trimmer head. You'll probably need to take it to a repair shop to have them diagnose the problem and locate the replacement parts if it's anything other than a stripped trimmer head bolt.

Unless its written on a sticker, im not sure you can. Chainsaws have a metal tab which has the year of manufacture on it.

The response posted by brector3 is not exactly true. While this is an inexpensive trimmer, Panasonic DOES offer replacement parts for this item!!

If you are not sure which blade you need (or if what I have typed is too complicated), contact their customer service center at 800-338-0552 (if in the US). The blade cost $6, while a new trimmer is at least $20- don't be fooled into buying a new one!

Your string head is part number 26 in the diagram. Home Depot's Garden department has a wide variety of parts including universal string heads and heads for Homelite, Ryobi, etc. and possibly one that will fit your machine. A lot of these trimmers have Poulan engine and trimmer head parts. See if you can get the complete assembly off the trimmer (if you haven't already) and take it with you to the HD and match it with a new one. The price of parts from an online supplier plus shipping will be almost as much as a complete replacement head. If you shop Ebay, there are literally hundreds and hundreds of weed trimmer parts on there and some good deals to boot.

Sounds like you need to take the carb. apart and clean it. I like to use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), to clean the small ports in carb. they work great for this job. Make sure to either clean or replace the small screen in thcarb. as well.
