Question about Konica Minolta Dynax 5D / Maxxum 5D Body only Digital Camera

Open Question

Memory card eject button

Hi! I'm hoping (and praying) you can help me! I'm having a problem with my camera, a Konica Minolta Dynax 5D. The little eject button next to the memory card slot doesn't hold down. I can insert the card, the camera works fine and reads from it, and I can press down on the button and remove the card. The problem is that the lid won't close because the button stays always out, loose, even with no card in. Help, please! and thank you!

I can not replace the card because the eject button when pushed down ejects the card. I have pushed the button down and inserted the card but the card won't go in all the way and of couse if the button pops out and when pushed ejects the card.

I have the exact same problem as Alves's memory card eject button. Please help us.

exact same problem here, I'm almost ready to just break the little ejector off so that the door can close - it would make it a little bit more annoying to get the card out but you could still do it

i also looked at removing the back cover of the camera but got scared by all the screws and what might happen when it lifts off, i.e. all the guts fly out and won't go back - no memory ejector is worth that!

Same problem. Just happened tonight when I went to upload pics to my PC. The eject button pushes the card out.

SOURCE: Konica Minolta Dynax 5D/Maxxum 5D turns itself off after first shoot

It sounds like that's the first black frame problem that is a fairly common defect with the cameras, so much so that Sony is repairing it for free, for more info, see:

http://ca.konicaminolta.com/information/20070202/01_en.html

then go to:

SOURCE: I believe I must get

Unfortunately Konica-Minolta stopped supporting their cameras in late 2010. So all of thier support and downloads no longer exist. You can contact a service center and they may or may not have a disk. This link goes to a list of repair depots. I don't know your location so I can't narrow it down more for you. I do not believe they made drivers for Vista so you may have problems even if we can find drivers.

I did a quick search for drivers online. Sometimes resellers will offer downloads from thier websites so it is worth a try. I searched using the following keywords"Konica Minolta Digital Camera drivers" I found a few but some of those are in the iffy category or the pay type. This link is to CNet which is legitimate so try this and see if it works.

You may be able to find the cd on ebay or craigslist so it may be worth looking there as well.

was it working before?
turn the memory card anyway and have a try - before check inside the memory card compartment with a flashlight if you can see the contacts at the bottom and insert the card corresponding to them.
Or try another card to exclude yours is not damaged or wrong type somehow....

Trouble installing the memory card.

Is this the original memory card? if not! and you recently bought one card, sounds like the right configuration but it is a bit to long for the camera body. I suggest taking it to a camera shop to make sure it is the right card.

The P-channel MOSFET switching the CF power is dead. It is on the little board directly above the battery compartment. SOT23 package, the marking is 338 or something like that. Replace it and it will work.
