Hardrive I had a E 68 error code. An expert helped me to find out that it was a hardrive problem. Do I need another hardrive or can this be repaired.

I had the same problem, Fallout 3 gave me an unreadable disc error the first time I tried it, then an E68 error when I rebooted. I called msft, they agreed to replace the hdd since it was under warranty.

Since I was SOL with my savegames anyway, I decided to try a couple solutions I found online. The first, simply unplugging and replugging the hard drive had no effect. Doing the same with all the cables had no effect.

Here was the solution that worked for me (so far, anyway):
1) Power down the 360
2) Insert the HDD.
3) Remove the video cable
4) Power on the 360
5) Insert the video cable after a few seconds.
6) Pray for a proper startup
7) Repeat 3-6 until it finally starts up.

It didn't work the first time I tried it, but it's been rock solid since then. I've since backed up all my savegames and gamer profile (which had become corrupted) onto a memory unit I bought used at a Play 'n' Trade. To clear a corrupt profile, just delete it and recover the gamertag. DON'T delete your savegames, and you should be fine.

I'm playing on the 360 with the drive and memory unit both plugged in at the moment, but I'll probably pack up the HDD and ship it out on Monday morning once the post office opens. It's covered under warranty and MS is willing to replace it, so why I figure I might as well get a new HDD. However, if yours isn't (mine was at the 10 1/2 month point), this might work for you.

Microsoft makes it virtually impossible to fix one of their hard drives and you probably won't find anybody out in the tech world who would touch it with a 10 foot pole. You can purchase a used unit for around $50 on eBay and if the drive your replacing isn't bricked, purchase a cheap 360 file transfer kit and migrate your old files to the new drive. Don't worry about any of your Achievements being lost, those are stored on Microsoft servers

Some games require free memory to work, while others don't. So if you are playing a different game that requires save space or download space, that is why. Also, you could have a hardrive in your xbox that the xbox is not reading now for some reason. If you have memory and no space, just go into your setting and clear some memory from old games, music, videos, etc.

Good luck.

I play my xbox 360 and it freezes at the beginning part when it loads. It never goes to the dashboard.i took out my hardrive and played it again and it works,if I put my harddrive in, it freezes.

Your harddrive is corrupted you would need to reformat it but this will wipe everything that was stored on it. You'll have to start it obviously with the drive out and install it then go to system settings/memory to reformat

make sure you have enough room for the game on the hardrive and if you do have enough room double check, first go to your account than select games select blazing angels and their should be an option to play off of hardrive if not your game may be scratched and is not saving to the hardrive

Halo does not load

What you can do is download another halo 3, to your hardrive with the new microsoft update.
then you can use the broken disc in the xbox 360 the disc will not spin in the console the console just needs its license to read the loading comes from the hard drive.
