You need to change PSM (preferred setting mode) for video format (PSM menu 9)

Check page 23 on how to change PSM and page 24 for list of PSM, of the user manual here : Download INSTRUCTIONS

Do not forget to vote the solution.

Hello, i have a jvc cd player model # kd=sh9700. i just purchased a used vechicle, and when i turn off the car, the unit stays on. i don't have a manual for this unit. was there a remote that came with...

Does the unit switch off when the power off/scr button is depressed , if so the unit has been wired to permanent live if it is an aftermarket upgrade not orignal accessory to the car. This can be corrected by your local car audio shop for a small fee , alternativley if you wish to save money just remember to switch off the unit manually.

JVC car CD KD-R301does not retain time

sounds like you do not have the yellow wire connected to a constant power source. you need to connect the yellow wire to a source that is still hot when the key is switched off.

Decoding error comes up on my in-dash dvd player in my truck. how do i fix that? possible loose wiring or weak solder points?

Your dvd player may have been set to PAL rather than NTSC (or vice versa, I don't know where you live) You may also have region settings locking you out. For example North America is Region 1, so Region 2 won't play on R1 players. If you mean to say that dvd's play fine, but occasionally stop and display this error than what you have is an overly sensitive laser and a not to smooth ride. By law indash DVD players for autos cannot play while the car is in motion, soooooo they don't make the laser tracking very good, since you're supposed to be sitting still anyway.
