Question about IBM ThinkPad T40 2373 Notebook
My t41 starts normal then when windows is starting the notebook shuts down. I have to remove the batter and pwr to restart the notebook. I have run pc doctor and the only fault is that cpu is runing in the protected mode. The HDD seems to be OK, I have also tryed to boot from the CD rom with no successful results. the computer power shuts down. When running pc doctor or sys. bios the computer will run with no problem.
This sounds like a memory problem. Remove the memory, then try each chip one at a time in each slot. Try this and let me know.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Tips for a great answer:
press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you will need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to start, and then press F8.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Last Known Good Configuration, and then press ENTER.
i can help you with live help if you want this
