Please check the laptop for proper cooling. Check the battery condition also. Try with removeing the battery and work on AC power. Check.. if the laptop is working fine.. there might be battery problem.

My Sony vaio pcg 3c2l has locked up. The keyboard stopped responding and now the screen is black, but the power light is still on. The power button doesn't respond when I push it. What should I do?

Try pressing the power button for several seconds (10-15). It should power off the laptop.
If not, unplug the charger and remove the battery for a few minutes. Then try to start it up again.

My Sony Vaio PCG 3C2L will not turn on. It looks

it sounds like a problem with your harddrive. if you have an oem copy of your OS then you could do a chkdsk /r from this. If not then the harddrive will have to be removed and the chkdsk /r done from a data reader from another computer. Hope this helps, leave feedback

My Sony Vaio pcg 3C2L's fan is always making horrible rumbling noises, like it is overheated and a ball is running between it. even if i only turn it on for five minutes.

Hi would i suggest is do not turn it on at all, while you can get a cooling pad for you laptop it does not work that well. Please take it to a repair shop inmediately. Sony and HPs tend to overheat a lot and the problem is that the video card on the motherboard goes bad and you will have to buy a replacement is the most expensive part rather than just the fan+labor. I hope this helps.

Sony Vaio PCG-FRV25 Cooling Fan Issue?

I was going to suggest overheating before I read your own diagnosis; Yes, sound like the fan, but you can check by opening up and watching it. Or install temperature monitoring software such as Speefan;
If it is the fan it may well be that there is only one possible replacement - officially. But it is usually possible to cannibalize something cheaper to suit your purpose!
