What video formats will RCA DRC279 DVD Player read

Hello

This player is compactable with DVDs, ACDs, Video CDS, CDs and JPEG files. You can't play the following type of discs. Laser discs, CD-1, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or discs recorded using other boradcast standards (ie PAL or SECAM); CDG discs.

If you want the user manual to this player, inform me by fixya comment, along with your email address. I'll send a copy of the user manual to you by return mail. It has all details. I can't send it to you by this window, as it does not allow ma to upload PDF files by it.

When i put a dvd in my hitachi htdk185uk it says unknown disc what does this mean

Either a DVD with the wrong region code has been loaded, and your player doesn't recognise it, or you have inserted a disc which is either rewritable (or an incompatible format for your player), a blank DVD or CD, or the disc has not been finalised in a DVD recorder. It depends on the disc(s) you have, whether they are region coded or those using a compatible playback format (finalised DVD-Rs are the best as far as burned copies go).

Examples of incompatible formats for your player may include;
DVD-ROMs
DVD-RAMs (which are the wrong version/speed for your unit)
Mini-DVDs/CDs
CD-RWs
DVDs with a different region code to your player or rewritable discs

* When using shop-bought DVDs, including those purchased online, make sure their region code matches your player.

My dvd rom does not run dvd, it runs cd, when i put the dvd in, the light blinks for a while then nothing happens, what to do.

is it a store bought dvd? if its a burnt dvd the format will most likely be wrong, if its from over seas the region code might not match your dvd player. each country has there region codes alot cross match but some dont, some dvd players allow you to swap the region code but are specific to each model. have you tried other dvds?

My samsung dvd player will not play dvds, but it

Are you trying to playing recordable DVDs (DVD+R or DVD-R) ? if so, try playing original DVDs (the type you rent or buy) those are pressed DVDs - if it works, then your player does not support DVD-R or DVD+R - If you are using a computer burner that supports bitsetting you can change the booktype of a DVD+R to DVD-ROM to fool your player.

If however your player cannot play either DVD-R, DVD+R nor original DVDs and only plays CDs, then your dvd laser diode is finished - there is one for CD and one for DVD, this is rare but happens, there is nothing you can do, any repairs would be very expensive - you are better off getting a new DVD player they are very inexpensive now and any repairs will cost you multiple times a new DVD player.

"No" message appears on player front.

Try inserting a cd, almost all dvd players can play cds as well, if it displays the same message you may very well have a defective dvd player, if it plays then you may have a damaged disc. If it plays the cd try a mint condition dvd; also, I'll assume that you know better but in many cases if the dvd player is not defective users are simply loading dvds in upside down. If all this fails return your dvd player to the store or check the warrenty.

I hope this helps, good luck

I want to covert my toshibe sd 120e dvd player into a multiregional dvd player and play usadvds

The hack for the SD 220 works on the SD120e aswell. Itook the following off a website that tells you how to do it.

u need to dload the rar file at http://sd220e.chez.tiscali.fr/ to get your region 2 Toshiba sd220e region free. It works great. This is what you need to do

- Download the rar file at the link provided by Labman
- Unpack it using WinRAR
- Start Nero Burning ROM, click File, click Burn Image..., select the .cue file, click open, disable 'Determine maximum speed' and 'Simulation', at write method select Disc-at-once (this is very important), click write.

- Push setup on the SD220e remote control, select under picture:
PAL/Auto: Auto. Push setup again.
- Open your SD220e disc tray and insert the CD.
- Close the disc tray.
- The disc will be read and recognised as a VCD, you'll see the image on
your television flash and after a short while you will not see any image
at all. Wait about 10 seconds and take out the CD.
- Your player is now region free. Tested it with a region 1 DVD and it
worked great.

I found that the ribbon cable from the DVD tray to circuit board located in the middle of the chassis was loose. It only seems to be wedged into place. I inserted the cable back in and made sure it was wedged into place securely. I have had to do this twice now.
