The keypad of our samsung microwave oven model no. mw4700w with serial no. 30200123 is no longer working, though it still lights up, it no longer accepts command when pressed. where can i order a spare part? (if still available). thank you

Sounds like the switch(es) below the keypad pad(s) are sticking or failing. Unfortunately, replacement keypads tend to be expensive, perhaps too expensive for the value of the oven. Search for replacement parts by your Make and model.

That would be a failed keypad, but the part is no longer available.

You have a failed membrane keypad.

Replacement keypads are no longer available for any Sharp R-9H-series microwave ovens.

The oven will have to be replaced.

Contact Samsung for the SE error message. They are fixing my microwave for free today even though it is 4 years old. Model #SMH9187ST.

GE manufactures various models of microwaves with a range of features.
Among them is a child safety feature that allows parents to lock the keypad. Though children can still open the door, the keypad lock prevents them from starting the microwave. The lock is in the form of a keypad code that renders the buttons inactive.


* 1 Press and hold the "Clear/Off" button on the microwave's keypad.
* 2 Hold the button down for three seconds.
* 3 Wait for the "L" on the keypad's display to disappear and display the time instead, signifying that the device is no longer locked.

You didn't mention your model number. If I knew that, I could check to see if it's one of the models subject to a recall for failed membrane keypads.

I've attached the portion of the manual which shows how to lock & unlock this model.

If that doesn't work, unplug the oven for one minute, plug it back in aga9in, then try again.

If it still doesn;t work, then your keypad has failed, and they are no longer available for these model, so the oven would have to be retired.

Chances are you have a magnetron failing.

It's about time for the keypad to be going too, so unless it's a convection type or you;re really attached to it, it may time to retire it.

The keypad circuit board must be replaced to start. Sometimes, the fault can also be on the main processor board.
