Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have a Eaton Powerware 3105 Model No 31050700A. Currently with the power turned on, it does not have power out of the battery backup side of the unit. I have also none of the lights are coming on. I do however have power out the surge protection side of the unit. Anyones help in the problem would be a great help, for this has me stumped. Rod

If it is at least two-three years old I would just replace the battery if the UPS has served you well. »www.batteryspec.com is who I use for replacement batteries... great prices and excellent service.

Which CMOS battery for iqion PC?

Most PC backup batteries are a model cr2025. When you take the side off and locate the battery its stamped on the back and held in with a spring clip. If you pop the battery while the main power cable is in it will keep the bios settings. If not, you will clear the bios...so if the bios is customized especially to boot a certain way it may not boot after the battery has been changed.

Casio pcr-t2100 I reset the register using the journal feed and pgm to off. I don't know how long it takes or if i need to do someting else to allow me to program it again. Currently i am in init mode...

If you are trying to clear the programming, that is the wrong way for this model. Take one battery out, turn key to PGM mode. Unplug the power for about 30 minutes then plug back in. Fit battery back in. Start reprogramming. If you need a manual, one of the users has one here:

Dell Dimension Shut Down

Hi

You query suggest you have Dell Dimension 3000. Dell Dimension 3000 is a desktop PC and does not have a battery backup by itself.

I am assuming the battery backup you are referring to is a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). If this is correct then by your description of the issues, the UPS may be faulty (indicated by the Red light and beeping).

Disconnect the computer's power cord from the UPS and connect it to a wall power outlet to confirm or rule out the UPS as the offending device.

If this does not help reply with more info

I have a laptop and there seems to be a light currently flashing orange along the front. Ive searched everywhere to find out whats happened but the laptop won't switch on at all. Its a toshiba Prestege...

The flashing light on the front of your laptop is a low battery warning. There probably isn't enough power in the battery to turn on the laptop. You need to plug in the ac power adaptor and let the battery charge until the battery light turns from 'orange', to 'green'.

Compaq Presario SR1123WM w/blinking green light. Will not shut down or start up. Just froze this way.

yep

you can flash the bios
open the side panel and locate a jumper called jcmos or jp1
its a pin jumper its currently set to 1 and 2. switch it to 2 and 3 wait ten seconds and switch it back to 1 and 2.. when it boots enter the bios and load optamised defaults then save and exit..

if you cant find the jumper , remove the memory and battery for 1 minute , replace and boot .. enter the bios and load optamised defaults save then exit...

IF the above fails then you have hardware failure.. reply here for further assistance
