You might get lucky ( very lucky ) if you power off the monitor, unplug it from the wall socket, and spray some PURE DENATURED ALCOHOL into the crevices around the power button. This might work if the stuck position is caused by dirty fingers from children or a dust laden environment
DO NOT USE any water based product in this endeavor, else you will be suffering far more then a stuck button.
After application of alcohol, let the monitor dry out for at least 10 minutes ( some would say that is to long but we are trying to be safe here ), then try physically clicking the power button. With luck your fingers will notice a small difference in how the button reacts to pressure. This procedure may have to be repeated a couple to times before the button becomes fully operational again.
Now if the button is physically bad ( can no longer be responsive to pressure ), only a qualified technician should try to replace it. With most of the monitors I have dealt with it was simply to difficult to get into the monitor to make it worth my while to internally troubleshoot them.
Good luck

I have a dell 1908fp monitor And the silver rectangular button is stuck which stops me from adjusting the height on the monitor. How do I fix?

I didn't think this model had a height adjustment. Have you adjusted the height in the past? Maybe the silver button detaches the stand from the lcd screen.

Screen changes colors

Hello,

Make sure the monitor cable is tightened properly at both ends first. If still no good, try a new cable between the monitor and the computer. If still no good then contact Dell for support, or just replace the monitor if it is out of warranty.

Hope this helps!

Dell 1908fpc screen doesnt sow anything just changes colors

Hook a spare monitor to the computer, if picture okay! the Dell monitor LCD panel is defective, cheaper to buy new. But if the symptom is the same it is the video graphics card that is defective in the computer. It would be a good idea to sub the video cord for another to rule it out.

Flat monitor will not receive image from tablet computer

i assume the monitor works on other machines. having said that,
Look on the tablet pc for a FN (function) button and look on the keyboard for blue icons. One would look like a square. pressing that SHOULD toggle 3 settings: 1 is use tablet display, 2, use monitor display, 3, use both displays. That is how it SHOULD work. You might want to look up the manual for that tablet pc to see exactly how it is done.

When I set the resolution to 1280x1024, the display is wider than the screen and I have to scroll to see the edges. At 1024x768, everything is fine. (Monitor is a Dell 1908FR-BK.)

IF the screen is wider then try to change the settings from the monitor buttons. We change change the screen size , move it , change brightness, etc.
