That problem is seldom the thermostat.check all fuses and breakers....if they're ok,its prolly an internal problem to the furnace.

How do i adjust AC temperature variance on a Honeywell TH5220D1003 thermostat

If you are talking about the difference between heating mode and cooling mode and the room setpoint, you can not change it. It comes from the factory with a 3 degree difference. In other words if you raise the heat setpoint until it is within 3 degrees of the cooling setpoint, for every degree you raise the heat setpoint the cooling will raise a degree.
About all you can do is increase the distance between the heat and cooling setpoint. To do this either lower the cooling setpoint to 3 degrees higher than the heat setpoint you want and then increase the cooling setpoint the desired setting. For example heat and cool setpoints are 67 and 70 respectively, and you want 65 and 73. Lower the cooling setpoint to 68 and then raise the cooling setpoint to 73. Now your heating will come on 3 degress lower than 68, the 65 you wanted and cooling will come on at 73. Remember, the thermostat new setpoints will turn on the cooling at 75 and turn back off at 73 and heat will turn on at 63 and turn off at 65.
You can perform the same using the heating setpoint, just have to look at it backwards. If you need to lower the difference I recommend a 8000 series thermostat. They are the most functional thermostat that Honeywell makes, be in mind they are about 3 times more expensive and many of the setting require a well trained tech to interpret and set properly.
Hope this helps.

Heat pumps require specific heat pump thermostat. If you are trying to install a thermostat that is generic forget it. A heat pump is a diff animal than a central unit. Get the thermostat that matches your system. A generic won't cut it.

Housesitting. RTH111B model. I cannot keep the

That is a NONprogramable T-stat. There is no program to overide, therefore there is no need for a "hold" option. To set the temp, place the switch on the side marked

COOL
OFF
HEAT

to the desired setting, and push the up down arrows on the front until the display shows 80.

The DISPLAY will revert back to the current room temperature within a few seconds, and will keep the unit on until it reaches the desired temp.

The set temperature remains at 80, it just shows the current room temp.

I hate to admit it but this is a common problem with the Honeywell S86A control. If you can find a heating slpy house neat you that sells to the public your lucky, more than likely you will have to get it from a heating company. a carrier/bryant/payne/day&night (all made by carrier) should have one on hand.

Assumed all the wiring are correct,

to change from manual switching from heat to cool, press [system] button ( left ) to go into system setting.

then press and hold the [fan] middle button untill option display 120

use up down button to select option 300 ( Manual/Autochangeover) ,

select 0 for manual, 1 for automatic. ( read caution in page 22 of installation manual )

Good luck

My Honeywell T87F Thermostat doesn't shut the A/C off when the temp in the room gets down to the Thermostat setting. I have it set on COOL and AUTO. I have to shut the A/C off; then later turn it back on...

Remove the thermostat and disconnect the r and y connection. If the A/C continues to run ya got a short in the wiring somewhere. If it shuts down then your tstat is hooped.
