I can use the modem directly hooked to computer and get on the internet, but when I hook the modem to the router then to the computer I cannot get on the internet. I have shut it off and on. Seems the router is not letting the computer detect the signal.
Hi mark - please don't rate this til it's fixed. Hook it up the way you had it. i.e. modem>router>pc. Try it, probably won't work. Unplug the power on your modem and the router. After 60 seconds plug in your modem. When all the lights return to normal (except the activity light), plug in your router. Give it 20 seconds or so. Try it and let me know what happens. Thanks.

Thanks Jeff,
The actual problem occurred after I had a power outage for about 5 seconds. I went in under admin and reviewed everything. I had powered down the modem and router. I kept resetting the router, and also the modem. It showed that I had an internet connection but was not letting me connect when I opened up the browser. The dynamic address would automatically detect and it was the same as what it was when I first set-up the connection. After a day of trying. I was viewing the network connections and came across the MAC address that my computer was noting, and it turned out the very last alphanumeric and had by one letter. I went into admin and changed the letter and reset the modem and router and now I have no problem and everything is working great. I just had to search around, and I cannot understand why the MAC address previously provided was not working and had changed by the last alphanumeric. Thanks for the advice though. Hopefully someone else who has the same problem may find this somewhat useful. Call your ISP and verify your MAC address.
