If it is Sony Grand WEGA KDF-42WE655 tv then it seems time to replace lamp in tv to solve this issue.
When did you replaced lamp in tv last time? If lamp has not been replaced in 2-3 years then replace it to fix tv problem.

Flashing lamp light indicates that tv needs lamp replacement as existing lamp is dead/ broken.
Replace lamp in tv to solve this issue, please buy Sony original lamp for good picture in tv.

Please check lamp in tv as pop sound seems broken lamp.
Did you replaced lamp in last 2-3 years in tv? If not, then its lamp that got broken and tv needs new lamp.

hello make sure the lamp and the cover is fitted securely, when you've done this the tv should be ok

This is symptom of weak lamp in TV, please replace lamp in TV and I would suggest to buy Sony original lamp for TV safety.
Lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual in details, click Sony Support if you want to download user manual copy.

Projection lamp casing melted.


This will be covered covered under warranty by Sony. If you will call 800-282-2848 you can locate a Sony authorized servicer that should be able to repair this at n/c.
